Last week was so sunny and I've never felt more excited or ready for the summer to begin, but today has gone and ruined everything! I woke up with the light beaming through my curtains...I was hopeful but upon pulling back my curtains I was met with a very gloomy rainy day.
Bronte (our miniature schnauzer) and I returned straight to bed and I did all the usual things I do: sleep some more, check all social media on my phone, catch up on some laptoppy stuff and then I attempted to read. I wasn't feeling particularly great and had a very crampy stomach so it was nice just to relax in bed a while. But I knew I was going to have to venture out into the rain to post some letters, return some clothes and buy various cards for various celebrations coming up.
I attempted to pull myself together and threw on my trusty old jeans and my even trustier young farmers polo, it may have been raining but it was still pretty warm. I threw on my barbour which is the best coat I own with an appropriate hood. I have been so used to wearing my toms I completely forgot they weren't meant for raining weather. By the time I made it home they were drenched and feet were soaked.
Going to the post office around where we are is like a whole day out, it took me forever to drive there and every road seemed to have roadworks on it. I refused for a good ten minutes to get out the car before I got out and braved the rain, after having done all my errands I felt rather accomplished and was glad I got it over and done with.
When I got home a friend from high school came over and we caught up on all things life, she usually lives in Portsmouth so I don't get to see her that often. Whenever we get together though it's as though no time has passed at all!
The end of this week promises to be a jam packed weekend full of birthday excitement and next week I am dying to order my new boots from Fairfax and Favor. THE DREAM!!
